Experience is about ten years of architecture research and practice. It's the sum of ideas and concepts developed in different ways and at various levels, on different functions, and at multiple scales. It's about the physicality of architecture and possible strategies to subvert established typologies. Still, it's about its processuality.
It's a moment to rethink urban structure, public space, collective living, and the relational value of architecture. It is a collection of projects investigating ecology and sustainability in their broader sense, starting from the intimate relationship between nature, architecture, and humanity.
The projects are exhibited in two ways: while some are framed like old paintings hanging on a wall like in a classical museum, others are represented by models enclosed by transparent domes of various sizes, creating a landscape of the climate crisis.
Experience is also a pause, a moment inside the Architecture Biennale to radically rethink the concept of exhibiting. It's a project offering the opportunity to reimagine the museum as a public space, a place to learn, but also to rest and socialize.
A big white object, a monolithic stairway—a monument to public space—acts as a place to sit and offers the visitor the opportunity to stop, relax, and watch the exhibition differently.
